Market Opportunities 

  In the mid-1990S, basic instruments were invented for laparoscopic cholecystectomy. Then in the mid-2000S, standard laparoscopic instruments are invented and the laparoscopic procedures became well established and widely performed. In recent years, the diffusion of laparoscopic surgery has thrived. The surgeons are attempting to establish new laparoscopic surgical procedure or trying new surgical skills but they can’t get the right tool for the right job. They are awaiting more innovations to enable more sensible applications of different surgical techniques and instruments.

  During the past 5 years, our marketing Dept. has directly or indirectly collected the needs of over a hundred sales-entities(dealers, distributors and angets). Sales-entity needs special instruments for him which distinguished from others, he may know the needs of customers and control the sales channels but he don't have the R&D to design and there is no production condition for manufacturing. Companies with such capabilities and willing to provide such services are rare. 5RMED has strong R&D strength and sufficient production capacity and aim to meet diversified needs of the surgeons and the sales-entities.

      It took us 2,700 days of continuous work and training to complete the construction of a professional and experienced R&D team. And we spent years planning, building, testing, verifying and validating our products manufacturing, quality control system and rapid response ability to meet customer needs. Now we could design and supply various laparoscopic instruments, for example: trocar, scissors/grasper, electrode, bipolar instruments, suction & irrigation, specimen retrieval, ultrasonic instrument, etc.

    The next generation truly atraumatic  graspers

      The old fashion reusable graspers/dissectors were invented 30 years ago and still unchanged, now it may no longer meet the changing needs of clinical applications. Study shows that using the old fashion graspers may cause risk of accidental tissue injury, bowel penetration, tissue trauma, etc. Our innovative truly atraumatic series of laparoscopic graspers have made a tremendous progress in improving the jaw-tissue effects, optimizing the force-transmission-ratio distribution and promoting the haptic feedback.

    The slanted hooked balloon trocar

      The balloon trocar maintains cannula sleeve position in the abdomen to eliminate unintentional migration. But so far, the balloon trocar only applied to open access technique, it can’t be applied to closed access technique. Because structure mutation of the balloon causes a sudden change in resistance that affect the surgeon's control during puncturing which risks of entry complications. Our innovative Hooked Balloon trocar and slanted balloon trocar is more significantly effective in dispersing the puncture resistance and reducing the peak force of the puncture, it could be used in the closed access technique. The hooked balloon and slanted balloon allow the balloon trocar to be applied to all laparoscopic procedures and provides stable anchoring throughout lengthy procedures.

  • The Expandable Φ5-Cannula May Change the Surgical Approach

      The traditional laparoscopic cholecystectomy, 4 cannulas are placed on the abdominal wall, a main-Φ11-cannula, an endoscope Φ11-cannula and two auxiliary operation Φ5-cannula. The postoperative pain of the incision of the Φ5-cannula is small and the healing is fast. The Φ11 endoscope cannula usually placed at umbilicus, and its wound also healing fast and cosmetically. But the main-Φ11-cannula moves at various angles of inclination on the abdominal wall for a long period, causes a large wound at the puncture site, severe muscle damage, severe postoperative pain, long healing time (even more than 2 weeks) and risk of trocar-site-hernia. Our study shows, that over 90% surgical operation time, the main-Φ11-cannula can be diameter Φ5, only less than 10% operation time there needs Φ10 instrument pass through the main-Φ11-cannula but Φ5/Φ10 instruments would changing multiple times. Our innovative expandable Φ5-cannula could expand to Φ10 and return to Φ5 quickly by one-handed operation. The expandable Φ5-cannula may replace the main-Φ11-cannula, reduce the wound, the incision damage, the postoperative pain and the risk of trocar-site-hernia.
